- Why Manifestation Feels So Hard
With every new year, you probably start contemplating “New Year’s Resolutions” and think about everything you want to do and accomplish.
A new calendar year always seems to signify a way to reflect on the past 12 months, look to what’s ahead, and to reset and begin again.
The past year has caused all of us to adjust to a new way of life by having to do things differently…
And as we go into a new year with just as much uncertainty as we experienced in 2020 and maybe even more…
The only thing certain is the uncertainty.
So as you begin resetting by planning for your upcoming year, setting goals, and declaring resolutions, I want to pose a few subtle ideas to you:
Instead of defining the new year based on all the things you are going to do differently, all the actions you are going to take, and all the goals you are going to work towards…
What if you used this time to reset by starting to think differently?
What if you gave more attention to your state of being which is more important than any goal you set or action you perform?
Essentially, your state of being is the interplay between your thoughts and emotions.
Your thoughts always create a corresponding feeling and as you remain within that same realm of thought and feeling, you begin to embody it.
Check out my nifty little graphic to illustrate this idea

In other words, who you will be in the upcoming year will be far more important than any action you take, goal you pursue, or new habit you start.
Who you are being is always more important than what you are doing!
Keep this in mind as you set goals and plan your visions for the future.
Below are 2 ideas that have become sort of my daily mantras for “boosting my state of being” that I try to keep in mind as I go about my day no matter what I am doing.
I hope they can help you to start thinking differently.
Thinking → Feeling → Embodying
If you want to learn more about this idea, I highly recommend you check-out Joe Dispenza’s book Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself.
Your state of being starts with your thoughts — they are the catalyst for the quality of the emotions you experience which in turn creates how you feel physically.
This may be very simple and obvious, but if your thoughts create your feelings, then why not set the intention to start thinking better quality thoughts?
Why not set a goal to become more conscious and present of your thoughts every day?
And the best way to do that is by constantly elevating your consciousness which starts with:
#1: Catch & Release Your Mental Chatter
Mental Chatter = all the narratives, “what ifs”, and worries that your mind creates and runs wild with making even the most mildly unpleasant situation a dire one.
#2: Make Personal Growth a Deliberate Practice
Another way to elevate your consciousness is to commit yourself to personal growth.
Feed your mind, body, and soul with new input!
Big goals and dreams are awesome but you will only get to where you want to go is if you actively grow and transform. That means not just learning new skills, but considering new ideas you otherwise would dismiss.
It also means examining and challenging all your beliefs and what you think you know about the world.
Set the intention in 2021 to schedule “personal growth” time every single day for 20-30 minutes. Yes, I said every day! Once I committed to personal growth as a daily practice, it changed my life.
When you consciously make your personal growth a deliberate (lifelong) endeavor through intention, habits, and practice, you grow rapidly through insight…
And when you grow through insight…boom — you elevate your consciousness!
And when you elevate your consciousness, everyone and everything in your life benefits. You become a better spouse, parent, friend, boss, co-worker, etc.
The second part of the equation to your state of being is your emotions.
Emotions = Energy in Motion
And like all forms of energy, emotions vibrate at a certain frequency.
This is essentially the universal Law of Vibration.
Take a look at this scale below, which you might be familiar with.

This scale is the vibrational scale of consciousness which measures the different levels of vibration for a given state of being.
So in terms of your emotions — the better quality of the emotion you feel, the higher your vibration will be.
For example, love and joy carry a higher energetic vibration than anger or resentment.
Just recall a time when you felt immense joy and how your body felt. Now compare that to the times when you were angry or frustrated. That feeling in your being is your vibration.
And this vibration you send out attracts the same exact quality of energy back to you through the emotions you hold in your body.
Be fearful get more fear back.
Feel love, the vibration of love comes back to you.
The point here is that we all have the power to change our reality, and attract what we want.
To do that, we can simply become aware of our vibration and start raising it to match the vibration of what we wish to attract.
When you do this, you are boosting your state of being and literally creating your reality.
This is the embodying part of the formula from my nifty little graphic I shared earlier:
So my questions to you:
Keep that in mind as you plan and set intentions for your life.
