It was my first day working on my new course on identity shifting. I was sitting in a small corner café —…
You’re journaling.
You’re visualizing.
You’re meditating.
But the same patterns keep looping.
You’re not broken. You’re just running into the three hidden blocks that keep almost everyone stuck in their old identity.
Most people think transformation is about doing more — another course, another habit stack, another morning routine.
But real change doesn’t come from effort.
It comes from alignment.
And here’s the part we often lose sight of:
You can be doing all the “right” inner work — but if you’re doing it from the wrong identity, you’ll keep creating the same results.
You’ll keep pushing for change while your nervous system clings to the familiar. You’ll keep affirming new beliefs while your body rehearses the old ones. And that’s why transformation can feel like pushing a boulder uphill.
Because identity shifting isn’t about trying harder — it’s about removing resistance.
There are three hidden blocks that make this process harder than it needs to be — and once you see them, the whole journey gets lighter.
Let’s break them down.
Most people start their spiritual work asking, “How do I get what I want?” instead of, “Who do I need to become for this to feel natural?”
When your attention is on the outcome, you reinforce the identity of not having it yet. You end up chasing results instead of resonating with them.
The shift happens when you stop asking “How?” and start asking “Who?”
Because your future self doesn’t chase. They align. They act from wholeness, not from lack.
Journal on this:
“Who am I being when this feels easy and natural?”
Then spend one minute each morning embodying that energy before you begin your day.
Growth triggers uncertainty — and your nervous system interprets that as danger. And when that happens, you can’t embody your future self because your body feels unsafe.
That’s why you sabotage progress without realizing it.
You’ll delay, distract, or overthink — not because you’re lazy, but because your body is trying to protect you from the unknown.
Safety is your bridge between knowing and becoming.
So before you visualize, before you set intentions — start here.
By the way, this is one of the somatic practices we do in the Identity Shifting Morning Practice.
You can’t think your way into a new identity. You can rely solely on a new mindset to make lasting change. Instead, you have to become it — daily.
Most people stop at information and wisdom. They don’t embody.
But identity shifts through repetition + emotion — repeatedly practicing a new state of being. Because it’s not about what you know — it’s about what you rehearse.
Your subconscious doesn’t respond to concepts. It responds to consistency.
Try this:
Don’t make this purely a mental exercise. As you think about your future self, feel it, and anchor the the thoughts into your body with your breath.
You’re not stuck because you’re doing it wrong.
You’re stuck because you’ve been trying to transform from the same identity you’re trying to outgrow.
You’ve been meditating with the old self’s nervous system. Affirming with the old self’s beliefs. Visualizing from the old self’s limitations.
The moment you shift your state of being — everything else starts to catch up.
Because transformation isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about remembering who you already are — beneath the patterns, the fears, and the old identity you’ve simply rehearsed too long.
So this week, notice which of these three blocks shows up most often:
Outcome focus? Fear of change? Or inconsistency in embodiment?
Pick one. Shift just that one. And watch what begins to move.
If this message resonates, these are the exact blocks we dissolve in my Identity Shifting Morning Practice — a 10-day audio course designed to help you retrain your subconscious, feel safe in change, and build a daily practice of becoming your future self.
