New Audio Experience: Awaken Your Soul and Remember Who You Are
Synchronicities and coincidences are the magic within the mundane.
They are sprinkled generously throughout your day, but if you’re not paying attention, you’ll surely miss them.
We live in a Universe of constant intention and feedback. Every time we declare what we want or make a wish, something related to that intention subtly shows up in our reality. We are always getting signs, nudging us to where we need to go and how we need to grow so we manifest the life experiences we desire and the answers to our problems.
To explain, let me share a quick story.
Many years ago I was working as a web developer in the IT department for a Fortune 500. It was a role I quickly grew to despise, working for a boss I didn’t get along with. Each day, I’d sit in my 2×4 phone booth, I mean cubicle, counting down the hours while gritting my teeth any time I had to interact with my manager. Things finally boiled over with him when he gave me a negative performance review at the end of the year and recommended my demotion to HR.
It was unbearable going to work every day.
I knew it was time for a change and to start something new, but quitting without a safety net wasn’t a viable option. Over the next several weeks, I sent out my resume like a madman and even went on a few interviews.
But nothing popped off.
During this period, I kept stumbling upon an internal job posting for a position in a completely different area within my current company. The role seemed exciting and intriguing but the problem was I didn’t have the required experience. It felt as though I would be embarking on a new journey — which is precisely what I need. This job was calling out to me to apply, but each time, my rational mind intervened, throwing cold water on any urge I had to take inspired action by telling me: “No way they will even consider me; I’m not qualified.”
Then, something weird happened.
For three consecutive days, a famous Chinese proverb kept crossing my path:
“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”
I initially heard someone say it in a YouTube video I was watching. Then the next day it appeared as the quote of the day in my meditation app and a day later it followed me when I was out for a walk listening to a podcast.
I took this as a sign to throw caution to the wind and apply for that job.
Fast forward two weeks, and I was bidding Adios to my old boss and beginning my new role. I’m not going to lie, it sure felt damn good giving him my resignation. Going for that job turned out to be the best decision because it brought me exactly what I needed at that time, and it all manifested by coming to me through synchronicity and coincidence. Let’s see how.
Synchronicities are the Universe’s way of saying: “You’re on the right path, keep going.” They are the breadcrumbs that lead you to your desired experiences. In my story, these were the moments when I kept running into that job posting over and over again during a time in my life I was yearning for a new direction in my career. Each time it stopped me dead in my tracks, tempting me to apply.
Essentially, synchronicities are like affirmations from the Universe.
Whereas coincidences are more like insights and guidance for our manifestations. It’s the Universe’s way of whispering: “Pay attention, there’s something important here.” In my case, this took the form of repeatedly encountering that proverb while my mind grappled with the decision to apply for the job. It was a gentle nudge of wisdom attempting to reach me.
Synchronicities and coincidences are essentially the same. Carl Jung defined synchronicity as:
“A meaningful coincidence of two or more events where something other than the probability of chance is involved.”
Understanding the minutia is irrelevant. What matters is that both are a result of resonance, a coherent syncing between your energy (intention) and some potential outcome out in the wild. The more this resonance occurs, and the more we attune ourselves to it by paying attention to it, the more we draw new experiences that manifest as “good luck,” feeling like we’re guided by some mysterious benevolent force.
This process happens all the time, whether we are aware of it or not — and it applies to negative experiences and misfortunes as well.
The beautiful thing is that we can naturally tap into this occurring energetic phenomenon to cultivate our own sense of good fortune. Below is a quick nightly technique you can use to generate synchronicities and coincidences so you can attract more positive experiences in your life.
I initially encountered this exercise many years ago through Vishen Lakhiani’s “Be Extraordinary” program. It is also taught as part of the Silva Method, a collection of meditation and manifesting techniques developed by the OG of bending reality, Jose Silva. This exercise serves as a powerful way to amplify your manifestations each night before bed.
Before going to bed, open up your journal and write this at the top of the page: “The magic I witnessed today.” Think back on your day and ask yourself:
It could be something as simple as a kind exchange with a colleague or coworker, or a heartwarming moment with your child or partner. Maybe it was hazing at the stars in the night sky or marveling at a flower in nature.
Or perhaps you made progress on one of your goals.
Maybe the Universe winked at you today, revealing more clues to the answers you so dearly seek. Whatever it is, write them all down in your journal before going to bed. Bless these experiences and give thanks for them.
You might be wondering how this practice generates good fortune.
The answer is simple: The more you acknowledge the magic you witness in your life, the more magic you will experience. The more you acknowledge everything extraordinary in your life, the more extraordinary your life becomes. It’s Law of Attraction 101. It’s the reason why simple gratitude practices have the power to change the chemistry of your brain.
What you focus on always grows.
So when we selectively choose to recall moments where we experience any positive emotion or elevated state of being, we increase the probability of experiencing them. Again. And again. And again.
Do this consistently every night and you just unlocked a hack to manifest one extraordinary day after another.
Jump into your day from a state of intention, purpose, and well-being.
